Overview

Millbrook Township is a rural municipality located in the northwestern region of the county. The township covers an area of 18.4 square miles and maintains a permanent population of approximately 1,247 residents as of the last census.

History

Founded in 1887 as a grist mill settlement along Birch Creek, Millbrook developed into a modest agricultural community. The historic mill structure remains standing and is designated as a local landmark.

Economy

The local economy is primarily based on farming, forestry operations, and small-scale tourism. There are currently four registered businesses including a general store, post office, grain elevator, and bed-and-breakfast establishment.

Infrastructure

Millbrook maintains a volunteer fire department, one-room public library, and unpaved road network. Municipal water is supplied by two deep wells. Broadband internet availability is limited to partial coverage areas.
